Finally, a new post

Well, since the last time we blogged we bought a house, moved into it, and began school. It's been a long summer and no we are not settled into our house. BUT we are trying to get that way. Just wanted to post a few pictures of my munkins. This is at the birthday party. It was fun! And Nonna made an amazing cake. ....more later.

SPRING BREAK!

During Spring Break we were able to take a vacation to Gatlinburg. It was so much fun. Our condo was really nice. Chelsea, my sister went with us as our helper/babysitter which was fabulous. In the master bedroom of the condo there was a large bathtub, which the kids thought was a small swimming pool. It seemed to be because it was so big. So they had a ton of fun playing in the bubbles.
They are so silly!
The first day we were there we visited the Ripley's Aquarium. It was really nice. Although it was crowded we saw a lot of fish and sea creatures. But everyone's favorite part was "Shark Lagoon". On a moving conveyer belt we were usshered through a tunnel of water with sharks swimming all around. The boys were so excited. This was definatly the favorite place that we went the whole time we were there. Elijah still askes when we can go back to the shark place.

Aunt Chelsea posed in front of sting ray bay. She and I both held a sting ray but I'm not sure what type it was.

One day we went to the Nascar speed park. Now, if we had teenagers this would have been completely boring....but when you are 3 & 5 and have never been in a go-cart before this is the coolest thing ever. The boys were so so so excited about the race. Alonna thought it would be fun too, but not like the boys did. First they got to sit in a real race car. Then they got to get the their own carts. There was one other little boy on the track with them. And they started out okay, but after the first time around Daniel "crashed" Elijah. Pictured below is the crash...just before Elijah started crying and refused to go on. This "race" was probably the funniest thing that happened on our trip. Everyone at the speed park enjoyed watching my crazy boys. Daniel at one point headed throught the starting point and turned the oposite direction....luckily was able to go back through the starting point and go the right way before Alonna or the other little boy ran in to him. And the only reason that Alonna made it around the track was because at each curve she bumped around.....funnny

The Crash...ask Elijah about it if you ever get a chance.

This is our Family picture on our visit to Cades' Cove. It was the best one of the three....I mean when you have three kids you take what you can get right?
On the way home we met Jimmy's Dad, Pawpaw Cowboy in Cleveland and had lunch with him. it was a lot of fun. We haven't seen him since July. He is coming to visit us in a few days.

For now I will close, next up........EASTER!

Turning 6

First of all let me say that I should be ashamed of myself for not updating my blog...thanks HJM. My problem with keeping it super updated is that "they" (the I-tech guys) have blocked the blogger site from our computers. It was easy to update before then....

The Birthday Princess

Alonna turned 6 the last week of February. She had a BIG birthday. On Saturday night we went out to eat and they sang happy birthday to her at Applebee's. Sunday afternoon we had the BIRTHDAY BASH at Southcrest Baptist with everybody. It was also a party for Jake, Emma, Daniel, Marianna and Wyatt. But we did it up right and had 2 moonwalk jumping cages, one with a slide attached to it. And Nonna (Rebekah's mom) made elaborate birthday cakes for everyone.

Mammaw came too (Jimmy's mom), and stayed for a few days. Then on her actual birthday I took cake to school and we had Lasagna her favorite meal for supper and ice cream for dessert. It was fun, we thought that was the end of the excitement........BUT on Tuesday the tooth that was loose decided it was time to come out!
I know this picture is really goofy. But it shows the big hole in her mouth.

So this is my silly toothless 6 year old.

I'm going to make another post about the Birthday party but wanted to write about my princess first.

Silly Children

I have been trying to get the pictures off of my phone and into a file, even though I know they will not print very big on the computer they are fun to look at. So, I'm realizing just how silly my children are. For instance we have been having many problems with our van, and it was in the shop for over a month, we borrowed mom's van and just used one car. Everyday the kids would ask when we were getting our van back, the day I did Alonna decides to hug it outside of her school. She is silly!

The boys, just like to make faces for the camera. Daniel is silly mostly when Elijah prompts his silliness. On his own he is very serious most of the time. But this particular picture they decided to pose for a picture while we were waiting in some doctor office.

You can't read the sticker very well, but it says. "Place sticker on forhead and smile" Which is just what my "wild man" did while we were grocery shopping one day.

All kids are silly, but I wanted to share a bit of mine with all of you.

35 mm Film Surprises

In today's world when you develop a roll of 35 mm film sometimes you don't have a clue what you are going to get back. Well such is the case for me. I took pictures at a "Birthday Blood Drive" on Friday for a volunteer for the ARC that has been volunteering for over 70 years. This was a special blood drive for her 95th birthday. Anyway, when I took out my 35 mm camera it already had a roll of film in it. So, when I got it developed yesterday the above pictures are what I found. They are from when Caleb and Jennifer were in Birmingham in August. It was a good time, the slightly odd ones are when Hannah brought out a CD of old songs and challenged Caleb to remember all the words to them. It was fun, but Jimmy and Jennifer had a good time laughing at the rest of us. Just thought I'd share these funnies with you all!

Welcom New Blog Friends!

It is a new week and hopefully this week we have some WVCC friends joining us. We are so excited to have all of you reading our blog. It feels like a "grown up" way to keep up with everyone. Especially those in Fort Payne that we don't get to see very often now. We miss all of you very much! As you may have read in the letter to the church we are in Birmingham and doing well. We are not sure what God has in store for us next but we look forward to it.

I can't believe that January is almost over. Wasn't it just yesterday that we were celebrating the new year watching that ridiculous motorcycle ride over the football field. Time flies, but that just is a great reminder to Seize the Day. This is what the pastor has been preaching and what God has been showing so many people in this area through the unexpected death of the son of a local radio personality. I know that God has been teaching me to slow down and seize the day. Here are a few things that I personally have been doing to enjoy life and God's creations:

1) Tell your kids you love them EVERY chance you get.
2) Smell the flowers as you walk in Walmart (this is Elijah's favorite thing to do)
3) Memorize verses in the car with your kids
4) Eat Pocky (japanize candy, they have it at Walmart)
5) Stay in touch with your friends.

God made us to love, Him and each other!

Until later

Everyday Life

This is my beautiful family. New Years day we actually got to tak a picture together. But you know it wasn't a big planned picture...it was just hey stand in front of the mantle and let "aunt b" take your picture. But it is so precious.

Okay, so I'm sitting here posting and listening to the weather on the news...SNOW? It is cold, not as cold as some places where my friends are but cold none the less. Lows in the 20's. yuck. Time for a warm cover, hot chocolate and a good book or movie. In fact I think I'll go snuggle under the covers now.
